Warsaw Pact Influences on the 1956 Soviet Invasion of Hungary

In 1956, the political atmosphere in Hungary had reached the boiling point. With their demands for independence from the Soviet Union and a new political system ignored, a group of student protesters marched through the capital of Budapest towards the Parliament building. With the death of several students came only more violence and bloodshed. The revolutionaries’ short-lived victory ended with the Soviet invasion of Hungary and consequent crushing of the uprising.

Our personal knowledge, which includes our experiences, skills, opinions and the literal information in our brain, is interpreted, processed, and treated differently by others depending on our personal circumstances. While this is widely accepted as the objective truth, scientists and philosophers often argue about how much this matters, questioning how relevant it is that people view our knowledge differently depending on who we are.
